Causes of Suicide by Depression
Why we have deaths by suicide:
I have identified one of the core skills of the brain as a 'solutionist', meaning, we can emulate and restructure the accumulation of all our experiences and the information we have acquired throughout our lives, to cope with or resolve a seemingly 'negative' psychological state. Consequently, when we find ourselves in a state of fear, panic, anxiousness, or depression, the brain shall not only seek a solution that we believe will put an immediate end to our suffering but dictate our physiology and thought process to command change. During this 'negative' emotional state, the brain will begin to search through all of our stored information, to produce a solution, which, we believe, shall end our suffering. As part of this process, our ability for logic dramatically lowers, and we become unable to reason with our emotional state; leaving us at the mercy of the brains, seemingly, 'independent search' through our memory, for a solution. If the brain has learned from experience, that the SSRIs (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) and the therapy, are ineffective and or the doctors aren't taking our symptoms seriously enough, and whichever 'route to cure' has been unsuccessful, the only other belief we have, which we believe, guarantees the ending of our suffering, his/her death by suicide.
