Causes of Suicide by Depression

Image
Why we have deaths by suicide: I have identified one of the core skills of the brain as a 'solutionist', meaning, we can emulate and restructure the accumulation of all our experiences and the information we have acquired throughout our lives, to cope with or resolve a seemingly 'negative' psychological state. Consequently, when we find ourselves in a state of fear, panic, anxiousness, or depression, the brain shall not only seek a solution that we believe will put an immediate end to our suffering but dictate our physiology and thought process to command change. During this 'negative' emotional state, the brain will begin to search through all of our stored information, to produce a solution, which, we believe, shall end our suffering. As part of this process, our ability for logic dramatically lowers, and we become unable to reason with our emotional state; leaving us at the mercy of the brains, seemingly, 'independent search' through our memory,...

Scientific Evidence That Music Eases Pain and Anxiety After Surgery

Image
Music Eases Pain I f you’re going to be undergoing a medical procedure, or you struggle with chronic pain, reaching for your playlist may be as good as reaching for a bottle of pain pills. The power of music for relaxation, stress relief, and pain reduction is undeniable, although individual research studies proving the same were too small to show a strong connection. That all changed when researchers pooled the data from 73 randomized clinical trials focusing on the role of music among surgery patients. Researcher Dr. Catherine Meads at Brunel University told NPR: “As the studies themselves were small, they really didn’t find all that much… But once we put them all together, we had much more power to find whether music worked or not.” Music  therapy reduces pain and  anxiety  by 50% and  is  important for children and adults alike. A study in Germany showed that pain and  anxiety  were significantly reduced with  music  t...

Why Make a Matrix? And Why You Might Be In One?

Image
Matrix The Purpose of the Matrix Why the Matrix? Why did the machines do it? (Human brains may be many things, but efficient batteries they are not.) How could they justify a world whose inhabitants are systematically deceived about their fundamental reality, ignorant about the reason why they exist, and subject to all the cruelty and suffering that we witness in the world around us? Children dying of AIDS; lovers separated by war and poverty; cancer patients tormented by unbearable pain; stroke victims deprived of their use of language and reason… One would think nobody but a sadist could have the imagination to think up these horrors, much less possess the desire to create a world that contains them in such abundance. But the machines did it, at least that’s how the story goes. Although the world of the Matrix they created is far from perfect, it is – arguably – better than no world at all, the elimination of all human beings. Still, the machines could have created a wo...

Sometimes when we think our lives are falling apart what we don’t see, is that they might just be falling into place. While change is not always welcomed, it is always warranted and often when we think that our lives have fallen into utter disarray, it’s because everything is realigning to match our true intentions and desires…   1. Everything you dislike has become unbearable   There is nothing quite like the feeling of irritability. It’s as if it comes out of nowhere like a mosquito in the night, causing you to itch until your skin is scarred. When the little things in life that never really bothered you much before, start surmounting right before your eyes… know that change is coming. It has to. There is only so much negativity we can take, until finally the last straw breaks and we snap… into action.   2. You feel lost   We’ve all heard that getting lost is the best way to find yourself. Truly though, it sounds a little backward, that is until… we can understand ...
